Outside of My Scrubs: I'm Extra... This I Know

Soooooo I went out with all of my friends from residency this past weekend, all black, all doctors, at a black owned restaurant. “Cuttin’ up” was the LEAST of what we did. We were pretty…. EXTRA.

My outfit matched perfectly. The striped t-shirt dress was extra, the embellished necklace was extra, my studded shoes were extra, my fur scarf when it wasn’t even below 70 degrees outside was…. extra. Whatevz, 🤷🏽‍♀️ I like what I like, I am who I am. I, in essence, am extra… I get it.

Also, I’m a baby thief. 🤗

But in all honesty, I’m extremely grateful that God’s will for my life was to align and meet so many intelligent, caring, hilarious, successful, “melanated” human beings. Grateful for them all.
